The result is the textbook formula. Real liquidation comes slightly earlier: exchanges deduct fees, accrued funding and use the mark price, not the last trade. Cross margin uses your whole balance and moves the level further away. See where liquidations may cluster across the market on the liquidation heatmap.

FAQ

How is the liquidation price calculated?

Long: entry × (1 − 1/leverage + MMR). Short: entry × (1 + 1/leverage − MMR). MMR is the maintenance margin rate. Fees and funding move the level slightly closer to your entry.

What maintenance margin rate should I use?

Look up your exchange's margin tier table for the coin. Small BTC and ETH positions usually sit at 0.4-0.5%; small-cap coins and larger positions have higher rates.

Does cross margin change the result?

Yes. In cross margin the whole account balance backs the position, so liquidation is further away - and when it comes, it takes the whole balance.
