Funding intervals and rate caps by exchange
How often Binance, Bybit, OKX and BingX charge funding and the highest rate allowed per interval, for USDT-margined perpetuals with at least $5M in daily turnover, straight from exchange data. Below are the coins whose rate is at the cap right now: there the rate no longer shows the full imbalance. Updated every minute.

The number after each interval and cap is how many coins use it. The cap applies per funding interval, not per 8 hours.

Why this matters
- The interval decides how many times a day you pay. 0.05% every 4 hours is 0.30% a day; every 8 hours it is 0.15%. That is why the pairs table normalizes every rate to 8 hours.
- Only positions open at the moment of payment receive or pay it. Opening a minute before funding and closing right after means one payment - and two sets of fees.
- A rate at the cap means the imbalance is larger than the rate shows. That is usually a time of sharp price moves and frequent liquidations.
- Rates and caps for a specific coin are on its page, for example BTC funding rate; all coins at once are on the heatmap.
FAQ
How often is funding paid?
It depends on the exchange and the coin: every 8, 4, 2 or 1 hour. Large caps are usually on 8 hours, altcoins on 4 hours; under a strong imbalance an exchange can switch a coin to hourly funding.
What is a funding rate cap?
The maximum rate the exchange allows to be charged in one funding interval. Once the rate hits the cap it stops reflecting the real imbalance: demand for one side may be even stronger than the rate shows.
