Share long, latest hour. "pp" - percentage points. Top-trader figures are Binance's definitions.
How to read it
- It counts accounts, not money. Every long contract has a short on the other side, so a ratio above 1 means more accounts are long, not more dollars.
- All accounts versus top traders. When most accounts are long but top traders by position size much less so, the shorts are concentrated in bigger accounts.
- Not a tested signal. The contrarian reading - "most accounts long, so price falls" - is popular. We have not tested it yet; similar crowd signals we did test (extreme funding, extreme fear) did not beat chance.
Related: CVD (who trades aggressively), open interest (how much leverage is open), funding rates (who pays to hold).
FAQ
What is the long/short ratio in crypto?
The share of futures accounts net long against the share net short, published by exchanges. It counts accounts, not money.
What is the difference between top trader and global long/short ratio?
The global ratio counts all accounts; Binance's top-trader ratios count only its largest traders by margin - by number of accounts and by position size.
